Bahaus Istanbul

This hostel made me feel at home and gave me a warm welcome.
The fun part about this hostel is that you have a big group-feeling. Every evening an other activity is organised: 2 times a week they serve free dinner, on Friday night there is a belly-dancer (feel free to join!) Saturday night it the traditional party night... every night something different. Most of the night are spend in the bar/livingroom or on the rooftop-bar! Also possible to eat delicious kebabs for 5TL (2,5€) or ask for raki and cheese, the perfect combination. Also nargile (waterpipe) is shared among the guests. They'll teach you to play backgammon (national café sport of Turkey) or one of the dozens of cart games played there....
The rooms are very clean. I had an 4-dorm bedroom, en-suite. The bathroom is small and a little old but clean. The shower could use a new door though (there was a gap between the floor and the door...) The toilet has this special plastic on top (the one you can turn each time you use it) Also the beds with sheets are clean. A hair-dryer and towels are also available in every room.
The breakfast is typical Turkish, so that means: tomatoes, cucumber, olives, 2 kinds of cheese, bread, honey, butter, jam (roses and strawberry ^^) and of course coffee and tea.

what i liked most about this hostel were the people working there, warm, friendly, social, funny. you got the immediate feeling of coming into a friends house :)

highly recommended when going to Istanbul!
